Scheduled Trips
Our 30-minute scheduled trips are available on selected weekend and bank holiday dates. Please check the link above for specific dates and to purchase tickets.
- Departure Times from Lock 18:
10:00, 10:45, 11:30, 12:15, 13:00, 13:45, 14:30 & 15:15 - Price: £25.00* (includes up to 10 passengers)
*Plus a £1.00 booking fee.
Booking Your Private Cruise
- Check Availability: Click here to check the availability for your desired date and time.
- Email Us: If your chosen date and time are free, email bookings@granthamcanal.org with your name, preferred date, time, and whether you require a 2, 3, or 4-hour cruise.
- Payment: We will then send you a personal link to pay for your cruise.
- Discuss Requirements: To discuss your specific needs in person, please call our booking team on 07486 955775.
Private Cruise Pricing
- 2-hour cruise: £95.00*
- 3-hour cruise: £135.00*
- 4-hour cruise: £160.00*
*All prices include up to 10 passengers and are subject to a £1.00 booking fee.
Onboard Amenities
You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy during your cruise. Tea, coffee, and fruit squash are provided at no extra cost. Feel free to bring your own “more interesting” drinks too!
Cruise & Dine Experience
The Cruise & Dine option offers a delightful combination: a leisurely 1.5-hour trip on the Three Shires followed by dinner at The Duck at Woolsthorpe restaurant. You’ll choose from a superb, special-priced menu created exclusively for Three Shires passengers.
Pricing for Cruise & Dine
- Two-course meal: £14.50 per person
- Three-course meal: £19.50 per person
Availability and Departure
Cruise & Dine trips are available any weekday from May 1st to the end of July. These trips are exclusive to your group (maximum 10 passengers) and depart on your chosen day at 6:00 pm from Lock 18. We can offer some flexibility on the start time; please discuss your requirements with our booking team.
Trip Cost: £65 (plus a £1 booking fee) for up to 10 people, plus a £5 deposit per person dining.
Picnic Bags
Enhance your Private Cruise with our convenient Picnic Bags, prepared by The Duck at Woolsthorpe. These bags offer a delicious snack to enjoy during your journey.
Each Picnic Bag (£8 each) includes:
A choice of sandwich:
- Ham and Cheese Salad
- Cheese and Pickle
- Smoked Salmon and
Cream Cheese
Plus:
- A home-made sausage roll
- A chocolate brownie
We can accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free options; please enquire when booking
Picnic Bags can be ordered when you book your Private Cruise and will be ready for you when you board the boat.
How to Find The Three Shires
Boat trips and cruises depart from Lock 18 moorings, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir.
Directions
- Navigate to The Duck at Woolsthorpe Public House:
Use the postcode NG32 1NY. - Parking:
Enter the pub car park and park on the left-hand side immediately inside the gates. - Walk to Lock 18:
Cross the canal bridge, turn right, and walk up the surfaced towpath. You will pass Lock 17 before reaching Lock 18 moorings. Allow approximately 10 minutes for a comfortable walk. Our skipper and crew will be there to greet you.
Important Information
- We are unable to accommodate dogs on the boat.
- Access into the boat includes steps.
- Please note: Do not confuse Woolsthorpe by Belvoir with Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth to ensure you don’t miss your boat!
