Hickling Reach

During the early 1990s work was done to restore the 2.3 mile section eastwards from Hickling Basin towards Hose.  A derelict land grant enabled British Waterways to replace 3 lowered farm bridges with new steel swing bridges, and complete dredging and bank reinforcement.  The project was completed in 1994.  This work means that when the time comes extensive additional work will not be required to bring this section back into use.
